Blog 4 surrounded

I am sitting at the car dealership waiting for tire repair ( darn Chardon roads)- I am in the customer lounge - surrounded by junk food! A huge Pepsi can ,almost as tall as myself, is next to a machine filled with over sized bags of fake foods and a tv in the back ground blaring some recipe for something that sounds really yummy. So, I get out the weapon of defense these days - Lighten up - well, ok maybe it is my iPhone, and I am blogging ,but at least I am not giving in to treats that would not do me any good.
I am flipping thru pages of a magazine making mental notes on a book I want to reserve from the library - "The Pound A Day Diet "by Rocco Dispirito. He has some really good recipes listed so I will check it out - I think will even try one for dinner -I am glad I have this iPhone - I can not only blog but take quick photos of recipes until I can get this book .
It is just so noticeable now, how many things are out to tempt us, especially when bored it stuck in lounge. If it was warmer, I could walk up and down Mentor Ave, but I will blog my latest thoughts.
A positive note , I was semi prepared for this wait that has turned out to be almost two hours so far. I packed some snacks. Almonds, water and 1/2 of a Florida orange bought yesterday on my long drive home.

Blog 3 - back in the car -

Well my vacation is over and now for
The LONG drive back from sunny Florida to snowy Ohio - one the road for one hour - the boys are bickering already and John had to stop at McDonald's already for a real coffee-
So I decided to write my Blog for the
Week. The cruise was great, weather awesome and met new friends. I tried my best on the ship - the scale on board said that I gained 1.2 lbs- I am ok with that , my water in take was a bit down and my whole routine turned upside down sleeping in a bit, eating dinner much later than usual and more food temptations than you can ever imagine. I walked every morning 1-2 miles, climbed the
Stairs and tried to stay away from carbs . Now I plan on getting back to routine at home. Yoga on Wednesday and Friday am, spinning class on Saturdays. I want to get to gym before work at least twice during the week but that means getting there by 5:30am and that seems harsh in these extreme temps.

Blog #2 hours in a minivan

Well having spent the past 15 or more hours riding in a minivan - warm weather here I come - I have had many hours to think and read . I am currently reading Evolution by Joe. Manganiello - a good book about pushing yourself / and believing that all things are possible and over coming obstacles. I trying to get my own personal goals set in place . I missed the weigh in, but checked in with a friend and we are both exited that 2014 lighten up in officially under weight - granted starting out on the road has brought out the whole trying to eat healthy on the road challenge - but I will do my best . I will hopefully get a nice walk in tonight. I need it / minivan and two teenage boys for 15 hours - a walk will be a great stress reliever .

Blog #1

Well I am happy to be back in "lighten up".I have missed the big red scale, the blogs and Facebook posts but mostly the personal motivation to see a lower number registering on that scale on Weigh Saturday's.
I am starting this first week on a vacation - an all inclusive vacation. Yikes , but I have a game plan - lot's of walking , lots of fresh produce and portion control - best part of this week is no cooking and no clean up !!!
This year I have a friend (co worker) joining me in this journey. We have managed to get two of our bosses to be our cheerleading team , our motivators and our "lead by example". The are both strong, healthy ( yes that means thin) athletes. Last year,they competed in many races , including a triathlon.They will push us in the right direction with positive reinforcement and maybe even so friendly wagers.
I hope everyone does well this year. I hope to be a major player in this lighten up contest .
