blog 41 Final Blog-

Well since the weigh in is tomorrow I guess this is my final lightenup 2013 blog.
I want to express my thanks one last time to everyone-
I am happy that I have gotten to know a few a my fellow "lighten upers"- I like following our achievements on facebook.
If anyone wants to go for a walk- just send a me a message-
I will miss the words of  encouragement and knowledge from Cori's emails- I warned her I might just email her from time to time and she said fine!
I  have learned a lot over the past few months.
I have accepted a few things about this way of life-
My weight will always be a struggle- challenge- I will always have to make choices- I will always have to exercise- I have to eat carrots instead of cheetos ;)

Thanks to everyone who reads my blogs ( I know my mom reads every one!)- some complaining and venting- (sorry about that)-
                                                                                                                            some bragging about my accomplishments.
I read everyone's blogsg weekly, I liked reading everyone's stories. I smiled with reaching goals- felt motivated by others activities, felt the same struggle with snacking .
I hope my bloggs and facebook photos encouraged others as well.

I have a few people who already want to particpate next year, so I guess I will leave it at that-... until next year.

blog 40 Compliments -

Today as I was wondering my building I ran into a friend that I have not seen in awhile, her office moved and we never seem to have the opportunity to cross paths. It was nice chit chatting with her, as I was leaving me she complimented me on my appearance and I shared my experience with lighten up. I shared about the weigh in's, Laura, boot camp, Cori and the Lake County Heath Dept. I told her that despite how challenging it is,I was very thankful for the program. She told me that I inspired her. I felt very good that I was able to do that. I still have challenges every day. This morning driving past the third McDonald's on my way to work, I swear that I heard an egg mcmuffin calling my name -I take that back, it was practically a scream, but I ignored the temptation and I was just as satisfied with my pineapple and cottage cheese, it feels at times I have a food angel on one shoulder and temptation devil on the other - I wish the devil would just disappear, but I will just have to keep making the right choices and it will be as easy as pie - lol wrong word choice - I will not stop on July 27 - this is a life choice.

Blog 39 outdoors

I spendt the entire day outdoors yesterday. The morning started out with a twenty mile bike ride , that makes over 130 miles so far this summer . I hope to make that close to 300 by summers end. Next, we went to Punderson State Park, we walked the archery target course, fourteen station in the woods, hilly trails. I never even knewbthat existed, by a 14 year old son with a new bow can find all sortsbof adventures. Then , lastly we took an evening motorcycle ride.
One other note, I think my youngest son has finally jumped onto this healthier living. My middlle sonn has lost over 40 lbs, he is so skinny, needing all new clothes.I look at him and I am so impessed. I may not be my skinniest yet, but I am getting there, Yesterday when I sat in the back of the motorcycle, I fit better and that felt good. I have reached the goal of being thinner and living healthier , thin will come in time. Living leaner is very nice and I will always be thankful for this " lightenup program".

Blog 38 days off

I took a few days off for the holiday. They have flown by - my to do list around the house is getting smaller yet there is still never enough time in the day. We went to another birthday party last night the rain put a damper on the outdoor activities, we did bring our own chairs and set them up away from the snack table, close enough for conversation too far to easily grab a chip and snack. Walking is an everyday planned exercise and I plan to maintain that after the end of July .
